Maxime Appelboom serves as Second In Command (SIC) at Plane Travel, LLC, bringing over 1,210 total flight hours—including 110 jet turbofan hours, 980 PIC hours, and 125 multi-engine hours—to support safe and efficient Part 135 operations on the Citation 501. Holding a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Single Engine Land (ASEL), Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) with Instrument Rating, Citation 500/501 SIC qualification, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI-Airplane and CFI-Instrument), FAA First Class Medical Certificate, and FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator permit, Maxime excels in precision flying, instruction, and compliance across diverse aviation environments.

At Plane Travel since 2025, Maxime contributes to cargo and passenger missions in the southeast USA and the Bahamas, drawing on his experience in Parts 91 and 135 operations. Previously, as a Flight Instructor at Florida Aviation Academy for two years, he provided dual instruction totaling 450 hours, mentoring students in single- and multi-engine aircraft, instrument procedures, and safe flying practices. Maxime's entrepreneurial background includes founding and owning Palm Beach Adventures, a boat rental business in Fort Lauderdale and Sebastian, FL, for five years, and Meditime, a consulting firm in Boca Raton, FL, for five years. He also managed SmartPharma & PP Holding as a Pharmacist in Brussels, Belgium, for 11 years, honing skills in operations, team leadership, and client service that translate seamlessly to aviation.

A U.S. citizen fluent in English and French, with conversational Dutch, Maxime holds a Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Université Libre de Bruxelles (2009) and a Bachelor's Degree in the same field (2007). He completed his pilot certifications—including Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and CFI-I—at American Flyers in Pompano Beach, FL, from 2023 to 2024.
