John Childs is a seasoned aviator serving as Pilot & Flight Instructor at Plane Travel, LLC, with over 1,624 total flight hours, including 628 multi-engine, 750 tailwheel, and 31 turbine hours. Holding Commercial Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings, along with Tailwheel endorsement and FCC restricted radio license, John brings precision, safety, and expertise to cargo and passenger operations across the southeast USA and the Bahamas.

As a Part 135 Captain at Plane Travel, John pilots Navajos, ensuring reliable and efficient flights while mentoring aspiring pilots through instructional programs. His prior role at SMG Delivering Data involved flying Piper Supercubs for specialized aerial surveys using photo and laser systems, where he reviewed flight plans for safety, coordinated with ATC, managed aircraft maintenance under Part 43 rules, assisted in crew scheduling, and handled sensitive project data.

 John also contributed to disaster response efforts, conducting pre- and post-storm assessments for Hurricanes Idalia, Helene, and Milton in support of FDOT and utility providers.

Before his aviation focus, John served as Manager at Capital Construction Services of Pompano, overseeing logistics, inspections, regulations, jobsite safety, payroll, and projects across South and Central Florida.
