Thomas Edison State University awards college credit for commercial pilot licenses, with up to 17 credits identified for the FAA Commercial Pilot certification in the latest review. To receive credit, you must submit the necessary documentation, including an official college credit letter from the FAA, to the university. These credits can then be applied towards a TESU degree program, such as their Associate in Science in Aviation Flight Technology or a related bachelor's degree.

How to get credit for your FAA Commercial Pilot License

  • Request an official letter from the FAA: Contact the FAA to have them send an Official College Credit Letter to Thomas Edison State University.
  • Gather required documentation: Ensure you have all the necessary documentation, including your certification, for the university to review.
  • Submit to TESU: Once the FAA sends the letter, the university will use it to determine the final credit eligibility based on your specific certification date.
